FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT HYPNOTHERAPY
¿HOW IS A HYPNOTHERAPY SESSION?
The first thing that the hypnotherapist needs is to establish a relationship of trust, which is obtained through a deep conversation based on understanding and total absence of prejudices, emphasizing the patient's reasons for requesting therapy. Questions are clarified and the process is explained so that both become active parts of it. During the first visit, a test is performed to know the level of receptivity of the patient; formal hypnosis is performed in the following sessions.
COULD I BE A PERSON IMPOSSIBLE TO BE HYPNOTIZED?
The ability to enter and reach depth in hypnosis varies from one person to another. However, a moderate level, or simply being receptive, is enough to have an excellent therapy.
WHAT IF I FALL ASLEEP IN A HYPNOTHERAPY SESSION?
Communication with the patient is necessary throughout the process; they are constantly being asked for information about everything they perceive when they are in a trance, since receptivity is optimized at such times and that information is essential for therapeutic purposes.
WILL I DO OR SAY SOMETHING OUTSIDE MY CUSTOMS OR MORAL VALUES WHEN I AM HYPNOTIZED?
The patient is always in control of the situation, so that he/she will never do or say anything unconsciously.
CAN THOUGHTS OR IDEAS BE INSTALLED IN MY MIND WITHOUT MY CONSENT?
Each patient is free to accept or reject what the hypnotherapist suggests during the hypnotic trance.
CAN I STAY IN TRANCE FOREVER OR FOR A LONG TIME?
Patients can interrupt the session whenever they want. In the remote case that the hypnotherapist disappeared before finalizing, the patient will recover full consciousness in minutes, depending on the depth reached in hypnosis.
¿CAN I BE HYPNOTIZED AGAINST MY WILL?
No hypnotherapist has the power to hypnotize someone against their will. Before starting the process, the professional requests authorization from the patient, without which, it is impossible for her/him to be hypnotized.
IF I AM HYPNOTIZED MEANS THAT MY MIND IS WEAK?
If the patient authorizes to be hypnotized, they will be, based on their ability to accept suggestions, regardless of the strength or weakness of the mind.
IS HYPNOSIS IN CHILDREN ETHICALLY APPLICABLE?
The receptivity of the children is ideal to perform an attitude change therapy; the mere fact of talking to them using their language and trying to address the child's psyche is enough, without the need to apply formal hypnosis.
IS THERE ANY CONDITION DUE TO MY BELIEFS OR RELIGION?
One of the aspects of our therapy is spiritual, not religious, since both terms, although usually considered as synonyms, have different meanings. We perform our work based on the absolute respect for the belief system of each individual.
